The fences were completed last week. Now we have to wait for the gates and electrical controls. The gates will be steel where as the fence is aluminum. The gates had to be sent to San Antonio to bake the paint on in large ovens.
The winds have given us a break this week and I finally had a line broken with a hit off the back deck. Bay fishing is still slow even with the Memorial Day crowd few brought back much of a catch and the winds did not cooperate either. Scott went out Saturday and worked hard to bring back two barely keepers from Carlos Bay. At least Jerry didn't have to clean a lot of fish carcases from the boat launch that wash up from the fish cleaning stand when a lot of fish have been brought in.

Jerry and Linda worked most of the day yesterday to reroof the cabana at the fish cleaning stand. Most of the plywood had to be replaced.
Work began yesterday on the installation of our privacy fence.

Our board was considering what size gates to have installed. We talked about 16 foot wide and about 20 foot wide. When I saw this truck deliver cabinets to a condo yesterday, I knew we made the right decision by going to 20 foot. Making the turn at the entrance would have been next to impossible.
Jerry shows that the fish are returning to the mitigation site. We put out my trap yesterday and baited it with old turkey slices and plenty of mud minnows and perch went right in. This 17.5 inch flounder thought he had an easy early breakfast. Jerry puts a pole out and checks it every hour or so. He gave me this one.
Here is how that flounder ended up. Now all I have to do is to take it to Alice Faye's.
The guests in 305 caught a 28 and a 25 inch red off the back wall yesterday also. Now if we can only get the trout to show up.
Yesterday Keith came by and took back a big barbecue pit he had loaned us a couple of years ago. I hope we can get it replaced before next weekend. It looks as if we are totally booked for Memorial Day.
It appears as if the 4th of July is totally booked too. There may be one or two individual owners with an opening, but that won't last long.

After the storm earlier this week, some of the stabilized sand washed out.
It left what looked like rocks on our beach, but I was glad to see they were just clumpy sand and would break apart.
Jerry has been busy using some of the old pier lumber to make some more of the popular benches.
Jerry put some gray paint on the pad for the dumpster to blend in the two colors of concrete. When the new pad was built earlier this year, we didn't want to tear out the old pad until we had need for a jackhammer for another project. When we do rent the jackhammer the back portion of the pad will be removed to make the enclosure smaller and the dumpster moved forward.

Welcome to new owners Jude and Barbara Crane who have purchased condo 101 and Melvin and Nancy Alexander who have purchased condo 106.

The new property appraisals came out today, but the county website is not working so I can't check to see what happened to other condos on their value for 2014.

Fishing continues to be about as bad as it gets. This should be the peak of trout season, but few are being found. Scott and three friends went out last Friday and Saturday and fished hard to bring back three trout.
Here are a couple of links to follow the progress of the work at Cedar Bayou.

Steve's(702) boy,  Jordan, and his friend Ben entered an OPEN tournament April 30th on Lake LBJ. Caught these in 2 hours and won it ALL! They used chatterbaits and topwaters.

Restriping of our parking area began this weekend.  Rain had pushed it back from Thursday.
