My 42 inch Vizio stopped working recently. I could smell an electronic burn which is never good. I took the back off and there are only two motherboards of parts. I looked on EBAY and I could buy both motherboards for $37, but anyone could do that.
I looked more closely and the ceramic fuse seemed to be an open circuit. Just to be sure it wasn't something else, I stuck some aluminum foil around the fuse and turned the set on for a while. Noting burned and it seemed to work fine.
It wasn't possible to solder in another fuse since I could not find one the same size.  I purchased an automotive fuse holder and just needed to attach the leads someway. I purchase something called Wire Glue online and used that mess to attach the fuse leads to the ends of the old fuse. It's been working great so far.
These pictures were taken on Christmas day in 2004 by our maintenance man, Jerry Hill. Pack Killingsworth put them on a CD to preserve them for me. Not going to happen this Christmas so we'll just have to revisit these pictures.

Last Thursday we had a major sewer blowout. This almost always occurs at this spot. Lina said she put her hand into the sever line and could tell the sewer was almost completely clogged with grease. She had to rent a large sewer snake at ACE. It costs $75 for a four hour rental. They used all four hours getting this thing unclogged.
These cases of bay windows one above the other are difficult to keep from leaking and rotting out the plywood. The lower condo seems to have a leak, but caulking it doesn't seem to help because the leak is really in the top window and the water runs inside the wall and comes out on the bottom window. We have only one more of these double bay windows to do to have repaired them all. Hardiplank will be used to replace the stucco as eventually the entire wall will be repaired with hardiplank. After this project the entire back of the 200 building will be done just as was done on the 100 building.

Lina has decorated our office for the season. I loaned her my snow pictures cd from 2004. She is going to post some of those pictures that were taken on Christmas day of 2004.

Finally, I broke my streak of days without a keeper anything. I was 0 for 2016. The trout have been fairly easy to catch off the end of the pier and keepers are around too. I know five is the daily limit here, but I had some help catching them. We used tandem white Cocohoe lures and what is called a beetle. The largest was 19 inches.

Longtime former owners Pack and Ann Killingsworth are renting their old condo for the month of December. We will probably exchange some tales of the good ole days. We purchased our condo one month before the Killingworths did in 1992.

This is Kevin Johnson's foot showing the location of the underground utility access points. Some  questioned why I wanted to put a conduit and a water line under the driveway concrete when we poured the concrete. We have used the water line for a drain for our pool into the sewer instead of draining onto the grass and turning it yellow. Kevin will use the conduit to run his hardwire for our wifi to connect with the 700 building. There is one more under concrete access point left. It runs from the base of the basketball post to the corner of 601. Someday we may need that one too.
