Here is a note I received from Steve Wright(702). Quite a catch.

Sending you picture of my youngest boy Kameron with a 10 lb. bass. He caught a 6 lb. fish and then the next cast caught a 10lb. For the record I have never caught a 10lb bass!

Parking has been tight this spring break, but parking on the beach has not been as crowded.

Florida has had their sink holes and we have had a few too. The water seeps through the wooden bulkhead and slowly erodes the ground and causes a cave in. JR is having Jerry dig it all out and replacing the material block and backfilling with concrete. This one is beside 608.

Scott worked for six hours on Thursday before he found these three trout at Jaybird Point. Michael and Lindy said they had a great time anyway. Scott did pick up nine the next day.

Jesse and his guys from Custom Electric came out today to repair the wiring under the 200 building. We had a number of cases of exposed wiring and faulty conduit.
Desiree Wilson, Regulatory Specialist from the Corps of Engineers, came out today to review our application to build a bulkhead to stop the erosion of our property. She had a backpack GPS  that is accurate to less than on half inch and recorded the elevation and location where we want to build. She will send us a map and a letter next week and likely we can then proceed to build.

I just don't recall spring break being as busy as it has been this year. Every condo that is available is rented. There are folks everywhere. I saw these people doing something and I wasn't sure what. There were two more not pictured who were ducked below the wall. When I checked further, I could see they were using pliers to pry up oysters and putting them in buckets. On Saturday there was a rather large tent set up just behind these folks in the picture. I had never seen that before either.

New windows and sliding glass doors were installed in 503 yesterday and in 306 today. I did manage to salvage the window screens and door screens because we are always in need of some.

Greg continues to find the fish while few are doing so. He said he found these reds at Estes on Monday using shrimp and fish bites.

We had two volunteer palm trees growing next to the west wall of 701. As they got bigger they rubbed on the wall and windows. They were also on top a large water line. JR had a crew here today and transplanted them to along the entrance road.
We had a problem with a burned component of an electrical panel yesterday. The electrician said a new panel would be $1,600, his cost, plus labor and take at least two weeks to get here. That would mean that condo would be out of service for at least two weeks. I knew we had salvaged some parts off a panel we had replaced previously. I searched around in the shop and found just what we needed. Then the electrician said it would take AEP 48 hours to get here to turn off the power so they could replace the part. JR has his contacts and got the AEP out here at 9 this morning.
The electricians got to work and by 11am the power was restored with the only cost being the time for the electricians to do their thing. Below is the burned part. Notice the circular burned area in the center. While they were at it, they found one more part like this that looked problematic and replaced it too.

With the exception of attaching two light fixtures, the cabana addition has been completed. JR's crew did an exceptional job. The seamless extension of the roof shingles makes it look as if this is just one long building.

Looking back toward the 300 building today.
The tide was as low as I have seen it this year. It shows that Sea Shell Shores has a lot more shore today.
Looking out over the breakwater it can be seen why rebuilding the old pier may be a problem. The sand has shoaled up along the wall and the first half of any pier in this area would afford little fishable water.

Don, his brother, and his son in law found the reds today in South Bay. They used live shrimp and could have caught many more.
I heard from three owners recently that they may soon be selling their condos. Two are bayside and one is harbor side. If anyone is interested, you may want to contact me and I can put you in touch with the owners.

The picture of Sibyl(602) was taken off the coast of Panama south fairly close to Costa Rica. It took her an hour and a half to land. The Tuna weighed 80 pounds.
One of Pat's(602) fellow hunters from San Antonio took this deer off their lease in Laredo. Pretty impressive.
Pat captured this picture on his trail camera at his feeder, but the big droptine deer refused to show himself when Pat was hunting. One of the hunters asked Pat to let him hunt the blind and sure enough, you guessed what happened. The next time Pat saw this one it was in the back of his friend's pickup.
