CORPUS CHRISTI — Anglers interested in learning techniques and tricks of the trade to hook into a variety of saltwater species will be offered a free four-hour seminar March 26 at Marker 37 Marina.
The seminar, which attracted about 200 anglers and their families last year, will feature sessions by a half-dozen local guides; the DOA Lures pro-staff; and boat demonstrations by Waypoint Marine.
Veteran Corpus Christi-area guides including Joey Farah, who is organizing the event, and Steve Schultz will be among the experienced experts presenting tips and techniques for both seasoned and fledgling saltwater anglers.
Pointers from wadefishing techniques for hooking into speckled trout and redfish; tricks to entice a bite from black drum; proper methods of using croakers as red-hot baits; and advice on picking up snapper and kingfish along the Texas Gulf Coast waters will be among the seminar subjects.
Free hot dogs are also on the menu during the seminar presentations from 3-7 p.m.
