We finally got a crew to start on the job of trimming back our shrubs today. The shrubs had not been trimmed since last year and it was a big job to try to get them back into shape. They had to use some heavy tools to tear into them.

It's been a battle to control the weeds this year too. Some of them are starting to bloom and are not that bad to look at. You might notice the small blue blooms on the plant near the skirting. I did not say weed because I had a professor in a Land Management class in grad school who insisted there was no such thing as a weed. It was just a misplaced plant. I'll never forget that.
