The decision was made to plant grass in the area between the end of the 300 building and wall of the channel. The pier was extended to match the new elevation. This is intended to stop the erosion of the beach sand into the channel. Scott is keeping it watered and with recent rains, the grass stands a good chance of taking root.
There seem to be a lot of early ducks around this year. I saw a flight of 17 attempt to come down in the mitigation site, but changed their mind when they saw me. Later, I saw a group of 6 circle and do the same thing.
